At the recent Midway Chamber of Commerce mayoral forum, candidates referred to both the Snelling/Midway site and Ford site as “once in a lifetime opportunities.” Find out updates and provide input to City staff on both of these important projects that will help shape Saint Paul for generations.
The City of Saint Paul is planning work sessions throughout the City for the Comprehensive Plan. The Comprehensive Plan is the City’s “blueprint” for guiding the physical development of Saint Paul over the next 20 years. It contains 6 chapters (land use, transportation, parks and recreation, housing, historic preservation and water resources), and is adopted by the City Council as official City policy. The Plan is used to guide the City’s capital improvement budget and other public investments (e.g. housing financing), zoning and land use decisions, and private development.

Attendees will get to learn about plans for the next Comprehensive Plan and to provide necessary input from the business community.
The BRC is hosting a focus group conversation with our member businesses to discuss the following questions:
1. Where do you see the need for flexibility or additional regulation in land uses and/or zoning?
2. How does transportation (including transit, bikes and pedestrian facilities) impact your business - e.g. how does it impact your ability to recruit and retain employees, or to move product, or to attract customers?
3. How does the availability of affordable housing choices impact your business? Is there a relationship between transportation and housing costs for your employees or customers?
This meeting is co-hosted by the Creative Enterprise Zone and the Midway Chamber of Commerce.
