    ReStore Sales Associate – Full Time
     
    Do you enjoy working with people? Do you also enjoy helping homeowners? Twin Cities Habitat’s ReStores are home improvement outlets. We operate exclusively on donated products and offer significant discounts to the public. You will join a small and dedicated group of staff at our New Brighton ReStore. And what makes up the rest of the team are volunteers passionate about Habitat’s mission who want to make a difference!
     
    JOB SUMMARY
    This position is responsible for ensuring superb customer service to all donors and customers. Receive donated product, price product, facilitate delivery to processing area or sales floor, and responsible for cashiering using a point-of-sale (POS) system. Maintain the store in an orderly, well-stocked manner, with an effective display of merchandise. Assist with loading, unloading, and restocking pallets and display shelves.
     
    RESPONSIBILITIES
    Customer Service
    • Demonstrate a personal commitment to providing excellent customer service to every customer and donor.
    • Understand and communicate current sales and promotions.
    • Answer questions regarding products, including availability.
    • Ensure that customer concerns and complaints are handled to the customer/donor’s satisfaction.
    • Offer donor assistance in unloading donations and decline unacceptable donation professionally.
    • Assist with loading of purchased product.
    • Able to answer all in-coming telephone calls.
    Supply Chain Management
    • Handle donations/products responsibly.
    • Label incoming purchased or acquired items using volunteers when necessary.
    • Maintain forward stock.
    • Responsible for no saleable product placed in trash or scrap.
    Human Resource Management
    • Keep immediate supervisor promptly and fully informed of all issues.
    • Contribute to high employee morale and productivity by creating an atmosphere that consistently recognizes and rewards individual initiative and teamwork.
    Operations
    • Follow procedures on handling the pick-up of customer purchases.
    • Help maintain all housekeeping standards on a daily basis.
    • Follow policies and procedures and execute directives in a timely manner.
    • Maintain work station in a clean, organized, and safe condition.
    Leadership
    • Promote and adhere to Twin Cities Habitat for Humanity values and code of ethics.
    • Provide a quality volunteer experience for each volunteer.
    • Continuously create and lead projects and tasks for volunteers.
    • Champion change, embrace initiatives, and help others understand the changes.
    Safety and Asset Protection
    • Properly use and maintain Personal Protective Equipment.
    • Participate in monthly safety topics at meetings.
    • Actively work to reduce worker’s compensation incidents and customer accidents.
    • Use power equipment responsibly with proper documentation.
    • Use proper lifting techniques.

    PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
    Education
    • Tenth grade or higher.
    Experience
    • 6 months of recent retail experience.
    Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
    • Ability to read, write, and speak English sufficiently to communicate effectively with supervisors, employees, and customers.
    • Ability to work independently and coordinate multiple projects simultaneously.
    • Excellent organization skills; ability to prioritize.
    • Excellent decision-making skills.
    • Strong attention to detail.
    • Ability and desire to provide excellent customer service.
    • Ability to interact positively with a diverse population.
    • High level of initiative and self-motivation.

    PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
    • Label, sort, and stock items up to 80 pounds.
    • Lift 50 to 80 pounds regularly without assistance.
    • Stand on concrete flooring for prolonged periods of time.
    • Bend, lift, crawl, grasp, reach, push, and pull materials and tools in and out of vehicles.
    • Walk and climb on uneven surfaces, ladders, and stairs.
     
    WORK ENVIRONMENT
    The work is performed in an office and warehouse environment with exposure to varying to extreme temperatures, vehicle fumes, and machine noise.
     
    HOURS OF WORK
    • This position will work at New Brighton ReStore, 510 County Road D W, New Brighton, MN 55112.
    • Store hours are Tuesday-Saturday, 10:00 a.m.-6:00 p.m. Flexible working schedule including days, nights, holidays, and weekends.
     
    TOOLS AND EQUIPMENT USED
    Must be able to either operate a forklift or be able to learn and operate construction tools as needed.
