The coronavirus has highlighted in stark relief the value that front line workers play in our economy – the nurses, the grocery store clerks, the delivery drivers, the first responders. In a recent interview, former Medtronic CEO, Bill George, argued that in the post-COVID era, America is going to have to “revalue” front line workers. What does that term mean? How will the coronavirus impact debates about minimum wage, sick and safe time, and other employment policies? If additional investment in front line workers is necessary, where will the funds necessary for that investment come from?
Panelists will include Angelo Giovanis, The Naughty Greek; Summer Johnson, Open Cities Health Center; and Si Nguyen, Little Saigon.
