It was in a period of growth and opportunity that we began working on this project and the irony is that our world is now a different place. We are facing what could be the greatest challenge of our lives and it’s important in these moments to step back and see the big picture. The lessons we’ve learned will give you guidance and perspective in these uncertain times.
Join us for an inside look at how our family business has weathered the peaks and valleys over a half century of creating handmade pottery in the US.
This live event includes a private screening of 12 minute documentary and Minneapolis Saint Paul Film Festival Nominated short film by the talented filmmakers at Skill Scout.
Film synopsis:
From the moment he threw his first piece in college, Peter Deneen knew he was destined to become a potter. He settled back into his hometown of St. Paul and set up shop with his wife Mary in 1972. For years, they struggled to find the right mix. Trying to balance family while navigating the trials of running a small business. In a world where family businesses are vanishing, this is a story about the perseverance of staying true to your purpose. One that the Deneen's hope will inspire people to take chances, use their skills, and create jobs where people can work together and care for one another.
This is a one-time event and will include a Q&A with the filmmakers and Deneen family - which will certainly be a riot!
