Celebration of Nonprofits: Increasing Diversity on Nonprofit Boards
Our 2020 Virtual Celebration of Nonprofits series continues! Kick off December with this special inclusion & diversity event. The board of directors makes important decisions and sets the tone for the nonprofit organization. It is becoming increasingly urgent for this governing body to reflect and represent those they serve. However, diversifying the board begins with developing shared understanding and a coordinated approach to ensure incoming board members feel included and welcome. This presentation will cover the organizational preparation necessary and subsequent practices for diversifying a nonprofit board of directors, including engaging diverse communities and recruitment strategies.
